Alison's Story...

Raised in Oregon, Alison spent her childhood investigating tide pools and mountain streams, listening to the tales of wildlife and whispers of the forest. Now, she weaves that wonder and magic into children’s stories. She has followed her love of creatures to many places. Currently, she explores central Illinois where she works as a veterinary oncologist and is finding her true voice in mothering, singing, nature education, and writing.

Alison is an active member of the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators and a graduate of Mira Reisberg's Children's Book Academy. She is also a Hike it Baby branch ambassador.
